Belmont Goats

Originally from the Belmont area of Portland, the goats were recently relocated to the Lents neighborhood and closer to our homestead. So we stop by more often. But today, one of the caretakers, Bix, was on site so we got to go in and visit the 14 member herd.
What started as a goat rental project to weed the land transformed over 3-4 years into a "nexus of an unexpected and spontaneous community". In other words they don't work for anybody now. They continue their found mission as a kind of rural community in an urban environment. Website and Facebook pages, Tumblr, Instagram and more have elevated their following!
