NOT MY CUP OF TEA
January Challenge Week 2
An early start for me today as I had an appointment at the physiotherapist. Got the bus to the Metrocentre shopping centre and then walked to the clinic. As I suspected not much can be done - I have severe arthritis in my spine and mild arthritis in my hips. The physio gave me some exercises to do which may help but in the future it will probably be a case of painkillers and then steroid injections. At the moment I am fine but it does tend to come and go.
After my appointment I walked back to The Metrocentre and hit the shops. Still a lot of bargains around and I made quite a few purchases. I went into Clintons Cards where they were selling their Christmas stock at 75% or 90% off. I bought some Christmas cards, gift bags and a candle. When I joined the queue there were about 20 people ahead of me - mostly with baskets brim full of stuff. I had a very long wait to be served.
Got back home around 4.30pm. It was snowing as I walked up my street - we just have a light covering now. I was weary after my shopping trip so I flopped down on to the settee for a while, watched TV and ate some fruit.
Neil came here after work and I cooked him some steak with mashed sweet potato. He brought his own sweet potato - cos he fancied it.
For todays blip I have gone with the January Idiom Challenge - " Not My Cup of Tea ". I don't drink tea. But I do have some Matcha every morning. I don't like that either - in fact it tastes awful. But its healthy.
Matcha is 100% natural, organic green tea leaves which have been carefully ground down to form a fine powder. It has been drunk in Japan as part of the tea ceremony for almost 900 years, and is used by Buddhist monks to keep them alert, awake and focused during long days of meditation. It has gained popularity in the UK recently.
You have ¼ tsp per day in whatever way you prefer. You can mix it into hot water, cold water, fruit juice, in a smoothie, bake it in a cake etc, I have mine mixed in a small amount of cold water, gulped down quickly and then I drink something nicer. I buy Teapigs Matcha as my daughter recommended it but there are other brands available. My daughter actually likes it. Its not my cup of tea but I drink it anyway. ( YUK )
