First snow

I awoke this morning to discover that everything outside was covered with 6-10cm of snow, so the drive to town for work was a bit exciting. Normally we only get a day or so per year of snow, the Gulf Stream keeps it away. So today is something of a rarity. More snow fell during the day, and more is promised for tomorrow, but at least the gale-force winds have stopped (though high winds are forecast to return on Thursday!) It was dark when I returned home, but the deposit of snow on the porch window gives you an idea....
