Into the wind

Sometimes you feel the wind is behind you, sometimes you feel you are heading straight into it.

When I ran home tonight I had the joy of literally running into the wind, sleet, snow and rain. There was a queue of traffic coming all the way up the Gloucester Road. Apparently the M32 had been closed due to an accident. I hope all were okay.

There was no sarcasm intended - running home in bad weather is a total joy as long as the water doesn't permeate through to your pants!

There was the distressing site of a man, on his knees, screaming in the petrol station, hands held on to two petrol pump hoses. He was shouting for people to stay away. The staff looked like they had seen the man before and there was no fuel flowing but he clearly needed help.

I paused for a while and watched to see if he was okay. He was very aggressive so I was reluctant to get too involved but then had the guilt associated with feeling powerless.
