Down by the Hogsmill

After a dull start to the day I found myself hunched over the computer while the sky transformed into a pure, clear blue and the sun shone brightly. "Too nice to stay indoors" I thought so I grabbed camera and lenses and headed off to the park by the nearby Hogsmill River which I've somehow never visited.

By the time I reached the park the grey skies were returning and the light went from dazzling to gloomy in a short space of time. The park and the path along the river were absolutely soaked by all the recent rain and the river itself, normally a fairly sluggish stream, was a swollen torrent of evil looking brown water (relatively speaking!).

There were few signs of life to be seen beyond the odd crow, wood pigeon or pesky parakeet, so these seeds just about saved the day for me even though I was surprised to see them still on the tree.

By the time I had trudged to the far end of the park, which is devoid of all cover, it started to pour with rain! I reached home a soggy cursing mess but wouldn't you know it, within half an hour it was all blue skies and loveliness again. Needless to say I didn't fall for the same trick twice!
