Button Placing

This is my reference photo for the button positions to match up when making buttonholes on the opposite band.

I had hoped to blip the final result of this knitting project but, having made two competent buttonholes, the third just would not work - same instructions but it came out baggy and just wrong. Having tried four times, I gave up for the day. Might watch a demo on You-tube to see where I'm going wrong..

I'm not thrilled with the buttons available locally, either very plain or too expensive, I wanted something a bit more chunky than baby buttons. These will be good enough for the Flumlet crawling round the floor (it should be finished by then!). Meanwhile, I have time to find nicer buttons for when I make this pattern again.
