Pohutukawa in Christchurch

It's been a difficult day. I biked home but still needed a short sharp blow out. I headed up the hills with my friend and we found these Pohutukawa trees in bloom.

Pohutukawa trees are nothern but there are some varieties that can grow in micro climates down here. These are majestic, in full bloom and a vibrant red. Perfect on a grey day and to view what's left of our city.

Tomorrow? It will be interesting. And it's going to get a lot more interesting yet. But you can only live one day at a time.
