To the point
A bit of an EB, but appropo for today. Today, I have felt like telling each person that I have talked with "get to the point". But, in reality, now that we have jumped all of the hurdles that we can jump through on this house, I am ready to move on. The appraisal came back good, the objections raised by the buyer as a result of the inspection have all been taken care of. Now all that is left is for the buyers to get their loan, then close. The end of the tunnel is in sight.
I still have some things to pack up tonight and tomorrow morning. My brother is flying in tomorrow to help me pack the truck. Then, if everything goes well, we will leave here on Wednesday to head back to Reno. I will be so glad to leave.
I read a very interesting quote today, that seems so applicable to the terrorism that struck Paris:
"For as long as whole regions of the world simmer in resentment and tyranny - prone to ideologies that feed hatred and excuse murder - violence will gather, and multiply in destructive power, and cross the most defended borders, and raise a mortal threat. There is only one force in history that can break the reign of hatred and resentment, and expose the pretensions of tyrants, and reward the hopes of the decent and tolerant, and that is the force of human freedom." - George W. Bush, Inaugural Address 2005
Whatever your feelings for former President Bush, I think these works ring true.
