Death (un)notice(d)
Today I found out that Mark died last April.
I knew that his job with the Revenue Commissioner had moved from Dublin Castle to another office further afield.
I assumed that his ageing dad was dropping him at Kilbarrack station to catch an earlier Dart.
I missed our conversations.
He was unusual. Gentle. Yes gentle, and affable, but not in an overbearing manner.
I was hoping that I would bump into him again, on a day when I'd catch the 08.55 Dart and he'd be late for his.
I missed our conversations.
And I found out quite by chance this morning that he had died.
Suddenly.
A while back.
And I feel sad. And I don't know how.
I don't know how.
Rest in Peace Mark.
