Technology free

My boys have had a lot of time with technology this past week and it drives me crazy because they dont ususally do so- i only allow so much a day, usually after school because A. they don't need it and B. they're behaviour changes significantly when they're surrounded with a lot of technology. 

I want my boys to be exposed to their surroundings and when they need some down and out time -then ipad can be there.

So anyways this week i'm making it a technology free week as much as i can. Today i succeeded. Though they did watch an episode of sesame st but hey thats sort of educational and i needed a wee break for coffee.

They played with play dough for ages in the morning and afterwards we took a walk to the library and go some books.

We went and saw Andre at work then went to this amazing wee community garden- Packe st garden. 

Its pretty awesome and the boys spent ages running around exploring, there were swings and a little hidey place under a pine tree.

 Their tired side showed through on the way home as Marley and Kanye both lose the ability to cope and had a bit of a meltdown, but when Andre got home all calm in the house was restored- that man is magic, i both love and dislike that he has this power, its like the power grandparents have too, why havent i inherited this power? Why do i only get the grumpy tantrum side? 

They had a lovely day though nonetheless thats all that matters!
