Iris

In Toronto, Alan McMurtrie breeds these Iris.  His work with them put me and my crocuses firmly in the shade.  This is a reticulata iris (reticulate means netted, referring to the fibrous tunic on the bulb) raised from Alan's left-over seed which he offers for sale at reasonable prices.
