Day 14 - Sunday 11th Jan - Off again

Late getting up and a complete lack of ambition meant a very late start to the day. Was still in bed at one and for whatever reason thought it'd be a better idea to have more smoothies and toast, despite the much more sensible option being more training and diet.

The day went downhill from there and I managed to convince myself that it was a good idea to have Sunday off too, to use up any remaining smoothie ingredients and to start fresh on Monday. In fairness, as much as my subconscious was trying to sabotage me, it is a tactic that has worked before.

I think it's a combination of the slingshot effect, using going in the wrong direction to sling you in the right one, and the idea that it's a lot easier to stick to something if it feels like there's a plan behind it. And plans start on a Monday.

If it will help me get out of this rut then great. Can start with a run tomorrow morning and then get things back on track. Then maybe join the gym after work, or go for a long walk. Might even give that insanity workout thing a go. It won't help with the running, but it will be good for general fitness and dropping the weight, which will both help.
