MonoMonday - Distance
I misread the theme for today's MonoMonday. I quickly had a look before I headed out the door for my annual check up with the breast surgeon. I spent some time photographing houses in East Melbourne with the number 50. I found an Australian Geo magazine in the waiting room that was celebrating 50 years of Dick Smith. I set up some artistic shots of that, much to the amusement of the other patients.
Before I uploaded I checked the other entries. Distance? Did someone get it wrong? Check Skeena's entry again. Oops. I had read only the first bit that said there were 50 years between the two photos in his pre MonoMonday blip and that it was week 50 and thought, OK, 50 it is.
So a quick search for some old photos for a distant relative came up with this photo of my paternal grandparents in the distant past. They were married on the 25th April, 1916. The photo is of outstanding quality, as they were 99years ago (amazing isn't it?) but it was very difficult to reproduce with the same clarity, even shooting in raw. I suspect it needed a better light source although none was to be found with short notice.
