A close shave

Burglar alarm installed and underpants in the wash (it was scary up on that ladder in the wind I can tell you). When I was stood at the top of the ladder, screwing the cover on the alarm box, it began to fall and I had no option but to let go of the ladder to catch it in 2 hands. 20' up a ladder with no hands in a strong wind ...... no joke and a close shave.

I get to do it all again in about 12 months when the batteries have to be replaced. Why didn't I do this job in the summer?

If your answer was that I have gone a bit overboard with the shaving soap, you would be right, but that's not the answer I was looking for. The correct answer is that there is a ring upon my finger and regular followers will know that this was not the case a couple of weeks back as I accidentally threw my old ring away. Diana had offered to buy me a replacement for our anniversary in March but I just couldn't wait that long. I felt incomplete without a ring on that finger. Not surprising as I had worn it for 25 years.
