Mickey in the University clinic again..

Mickey has - as some of you might know by now - cushings disease. she is the first parrot alive (all over the world) who is diagnosed with this disease. Because this also has a bad effect on her immunesystem she now also has Aspergillosis (fungus infection in her lungs). Anyway.. she is of course a case for the avian vet in Utrecht (Netherlands), and she is treated for the cushing and the infection. But... she troubles with her weight a lot. She has a big fatty liver and she also constantly has fluids in her tummy. So they again did some blood work and an echo. In this photo you can see that they took some fluids from her tummy with a needle. My brave girl!
