Evening Brown
Identification - Melanitis lede - Common Evening Brown.
As I walk along my bug safari route, these inconspicuous butterflies rise from my feet. They do not peak my attention often, as they are rather dowdy in livery and it means having to get down and very dirty.
Also, they are quite shy, but tend to wait until I am about to fire the shutter before moving on about five feet, close enough for me to be still interested but far enough that I have to get to my feet again. After going through this up and down exercise half a dozen times, I am tempted to just step on the little b@$#er – but that would not make a good Blip now, would it :)
