Little visitor today.
One of Ruaraidhs friends who is in his class.
He pops in and out of folks houses through the village.
Not for long, just for a wee chat or a play.
Always very pleasant and older than his years... And very much taller than any other kid his age! (he's actually a year older than Ru but they have some composite classes at our school)
I had got a refurbished d7100 just before Christmas.
I was after more focus points, faster auto focus and better low light results.
Got a good deal. Partly Christmas present and partly bought with my own pennies.. (although I was still going to be handing over my pocket money for about a year to pay the remainder!!)
I have really enjoyed it, a nice feeling camera and very intuitive. Some of the results have been awesome but some not so... ... During a month of playing with it and learning all about it I have found that it has a totally random auto focus issue which I found really annoying.
I generally am a single point focus kinda gal and I found this very reliable with my d3100 but the d7100 would go way off course. Sometimes jumping to the other eye, sometimes onto something else completely. Then it would hit the target spot on and give me a cracking shot.. I was aware that some had problems with some lenses that then had to be fine tuned. But this was random so not the lenses.
So I was in a total dilemma.
I tried to hang on and just deal with it but it was all to irritating and annoying and today I reluctantly took it back to the shop where the guy did some test shots himself and it did the same thing with him.
So back to the drawing board. (well back to the d3100 for now!)
It's seems to be a common complaint on these and some of the other nikons out there and I'm at a bit of a loss what to do.
I certainly couldn't justify buying one of those at full price that's for sure! So maybe I'll just stick with my little ol' reliable D3100!
