Playing Away From Home

I have a confession to make: I have been unfaithful this weekend. While my beloved Yeovil were slip sliding away to another defeat in the chilly wastes of Barnsley, I had returned to the arms of my first love, Bromley (now of the Conference South) who were playing away at Torquay in the FA Trophy.

We'd gone down to visit our old friend, Martyn, and his wife Elmer who live in Torquay. Martyn is a season ticket holder at Plainmoor but when we were growing up in Pett's Wood, we were avid Bromley fans so we spent the afternoon reliving our past and trying to recall the names of our boyhood Bromley heroes.

Sadly Bromley lost 4 - 0, but it made a change to see a Home team scoring some goals!  I should point out that Tess was beside us in the stands, adding to the list of football grounds she has endured, sorry - enjoyed. Ridiculously I was confronted by a steward who ordered me to stop taking photos. Quite why Torquay should be so sensitive about this when I've take photos regularly at Yeovil and on my one visit to Old Trafford without any complaints I don't know!

Later we talked about some old times and drank ourselves some beers. Still crazy after all these years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46bkXgxb66E
