Cold Sunday
A sunny morning but I didn't get going until midday when it had clouded over and got considerably colder! However it was time me and my new lover, the multi-adjustable tripod ( with inbuilt spirit level no less), got better acquainted. Where better than Cotehele with its quay and place for refreshment when the cold got into my bones?!Well I positively purred in admiration and love - oblivious to the passing couples, dogwalkers, young families and elderly walkers!
I had great fun zooming in and out, angling the camera, turning it from landscape to portrait, extending its legs and using the little handle to extend it upwards! Spent more time fiddling with it than actually taking photographs!
At one point I heard a woodpecker - no chance of spotting it in the woods though! Did watch a group of ducks cavorting in the stream, being carried downstream and then swimming up to repeat the ride!
Had a lovely lunch and spent the time eavesdropping and people watching! I seemed to be getting quizzical looks from people - a woman, eating alone? I think my camera and tripod laid on the table reassured them I had a purpose and I was not sad, mad nor unsociable! I certainly seemed happier than most as the conversations were not inspiring and quite often people sat in silence! Most people seemed to lavish more attention on their dogs, of which there were many!
Home to give Milly and Tilly a final bit of free range - they headed under my kitchen table as usual! Then off to put the big girls to bed, in so many layers I could barely move but was definitely not cold! Heard the owl as I was leaving the plot - but again, no sighting!
The photograph? The storage warehouse on the quay! More of the actual scenery can be seen here! plus view across Cornwall and into Devon, with the Tamar Bridge in the far distance providing the gateway!
