Cold Blue Morning Moon

This is what the moon looked like in my backyard on this morning. The local temperature was 1 degree F, or minus 17 C.

On this morning, I learned some sad news: a friend of mine has a daughter, age 26, who passed away after a battle with a rare and painful immune system disorder.

So this photo is dedicated to my friend's daughter. The daughter's name is Jessica, and she was beautiful. But she is not truly gone from us; her spirit remains, and its bright light shines on in those who will carry forward her love and her memories.

This morning's moon will always be Jessie's moon.
