Mole in the hole
We've had a mole (actually it is not a mole but, after a bit of research now that we got some decent photos of it, a northern short-tailed shrew - one of a very few species of venomous mammals!) living in, rather under, our yard for at least two years. Today, despite -14C weather, it popped out from a hole in the snow, leaves, and plant pots on the patio to snatch some seeds. Very quick, this beastie is hard to capture but I managed to get a few decent shots of it this morning in poor light.
