Spiked

"Pitch inspection at 9am" was the phrase surrounding today's game.

When I arrived at 8.30 a group of volunteers were forking the pitch to try and get the water away.

They were unfortunately fighting a losing battle and a local referee didn't take long to declare the pitch unplayable.

So we will try again on Tuesday evening but if the rain doesn't stop and give the pitch a chance to dry we may be in a similar position again.
