Carse view
Friend Anne and I did the Edinburgh run today to collect paintings from the Torrance Gallery. We set off somewhat warily amid warnings of snow, even on low-lying areas, but there was nothing too horrendous. In fact the weather seemed to change every five minutes and we experienced everything from sleet to sunshine and blue skies.
As we passed through the village of Cambusbarron, the sun was illuminating the Ochil Hills. I've cropped this shot so that you can see Stirling Castle in its elevated position above the broad, flat Carse of Stirling. What a good vantage point for being able to see the approach of enemy forces from the west!
