Back-blip

We had a delightful evening with dear friends A and C at the Copper Hog on Thursday. It was a special event -- a New Belgium beer pairing 5-course meal. Each combination was great.

The event was reservation-only, and there were only about half a dozen people there, including us. We had excellent service and interesting discussions with Andy Sturm, one of the New Belgium brewers; the local sales rep; and the owner of the Copper Hog.

When we told Andy that we'd visited the New Belgium brewery at Fort Collins on one of our beer pilgrimages a few years ago, and were considering another trip to Fort Collins, he promised us a special brewery tour the next time. That's a tempting offer!

(Duchesse de Bourgogne is one of my favorite Belgian -- not New Belgium -- beers. The "luggage" sign is a relic of the days when this building was Bellingham's long-distance bus depot.)
