A day of birds

A lovely sunny morning and a visit to Blackhole Marsh, Seaton with some very serious birding enthusiasts and another blipper, Stella2. Apparently, 48 different species were seen in the morning (not all by me), a beginner at this game and probably another 10 or so in the afternoon. We saw lots of lapwings in flight, many ducks and geese, a kingfisher who sat still, shelduck, redstart, fulmar, 2 buzzards and gannets who fly over from the Channel Islands and many others.
I have been searching high and low and believe these to be curlews but I am often wrong so am happy to be corrected.
