Je Suis Charlie

The talk in the break room today at work for good reason was about the horrific terrorist attack in Paris which saw 12 people lose their lives. To live in a world in which people are killed for speaking their minds is a shock and something that needs to be condemned, these are actions that are never justified even if one disagrees with another's views . I guess as someone who has grown up in a country where free speech is a matter of course I forget how fundamental it is to live a life free and without persecution. I didn't intentionally seek out this picture tonight, upon reviewing my photos I thought the image was apt given the circumstances. So, yes we are all Charlie if it means standing up to those who seek to violate our way of life. I admire the people of Paris's strength and defiance on this sad day.
