Old Ladies

I had the pleasure of serving aboard both HMS Fearless and HMS Intrepid, the last 'steam' propelled ships in the RN.
Designated LPD's, Landing Platform Docks, they could sink down to allow landing craft to exit and enter via the stern gate with a helicopter pad aft. Sadly gone to scrap now they were great ships.
