Je suis Charlie

The slaughter of 12 journalists, cartoonists and police yesterday at French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has stunned and shocked the world. My thoughts were with the families of the dead and my many friends who are journalists and cartoonists too, especially Peter Brookes of The Times who I worked next to for many years.

The radical muslim murderers fled and are being sought by police.

Today I went down to the French Embassy in Belgravia to pay my respects. The wall was covered in tributes and hearts.
