Darlington Railway Station

I have had a good day today though booking a train home at 18.55 when I got back to the station at 4 pm was probably a mistake. Still I have managed to access the Internet for a few minutes so hopefully can post my blip.

On the way to Middlesbrough today I came through and changed at Darlington. I was so impressed by the station I immediately took a couple of photos on my iPhone. It was so well cared for and imposing I just had not expected it.

Today I have been examining a doctorate which means I sepnt some of christmas reading the 100000 words of the thesis. It was very squarely in my area of expertise and by and large it was an easy and enjoyable read. Well after a friendly grilling from us the candidate passed and will no doubt be celebrating somewhere in Middlesbrough right now. It is always good to be able to see the delight on the face of a successful candidate. I hope my own student will pass when she re-submits.

So cups of tea, a bit of blipping and staying warm in the cafe and I will get home by 9 pm.
