Revived
It was amazing to see how fast and determined society has reacted against yesterday's terror attack in France and all around the world. Further manifestations are planned, some advertisement posters were changed with the "Je suis Charlie" message, the Vélib system is changing all 1'800 screens on their stations until Sunday, and many, many more activities.
Thank you also for yesterday's comments.

Ourselves spent a part of today's rainy day in the Louvre. We had an early start and were quick to enter the museum. Chosing a different wing than the one with Mona Lisa let us almost alone in that enormous building. During the minute's silence at noon we were in the Café, having a break. Afterwards continuing towards the much more busy Mona Lisa wing. Far too many impressions and not easy to choose just one entry. After a dark image yesterday, a more bright one today:
Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss,
made of marble and crafted that beautifully that it gives the impression of aliveness. There is much background information on the Louvre's website and the story:
This winged young man who has just landed on a rock where a girl lies unconscious, is the god Eros – Cupid in Latin – and can be recognized by his wings and his quiver filled with arrows. The girl’s name is Psyche. Cupid’s mother Venus, goddess of Beauty, demanded that Psyche bring back a flask from the Underworld, strictly forbidding her to open it.
But Psyche’s curiosity got the better of her; and no sooner had she had breathed in the terrible fumes than she fell into a deep, deathlike sleep. Seeing her lying motionless, Cupid rushed to her and touched her gently with the tip of his arrow, to make sure she was not dead. This is the moment caught by the sculptor: Cupid lifts his beloved Psyche in a tender embrace, his face close to hers. Psyche lets herself sink slowly backwards, languorously taking her lover’s head between her hands.
