Strawberries

An unexpected visit from very good friends, Mila and Josep, had us reaching into the depths of the fridge for some things to pick on.  We did quite well with Spanish ham, spicy chorizo, manchego cheese, cheddar, bread with tomato, oatcakes, smoked salmon on creamy goats cheese with pineapple, mince pies, Dundee cake, Dd's homemade banana and walnut cake, natural yoghurt and, why not, strawberries.  Washed down with German beer in three shades and a fine Rioja reserva.    Dd did say when we bought it all that it all had to be used so we are forever grateful for the visit tonight.   More than that, for the pleasure of being with our oldest Spanish friends.
