Mexican Chocolate

Mexicans love hot chocolate, and believe me, it's not Nestle's Instant!
The bag in front is full of cacao beans, which are put into a grinder and come out as a thick paste. The paste is put back into the grinder with sugar and possibly almonds and/or cinnamon sticks, and it's all ground together. The customers can order it in the proportions they like. the young man will put the ground chocolate into a plastic bag and it's sold by the kilo.
Some of the chocolate is formed into discs, sometimes with other flavors such as vanilla. If you buy Mexican chocolate in a grocery store, this is how it's made. Most of these shops, which also sell coffee, are on the same street. You can't believe the wonderful aroma filling the air!
