Florida Screech Owl

Had a trip to Brighton with zoology daughter to visit the Booth Museum of Natural History. Booth’s particular interest was ornithology, during his lifetime he collected a huge variety of stuffed birds and was a pioneer of the environmental type of display called ‘diorama’, displaying birds in their natural habitat. His museum opened in 1874 and, following his death in 1890, passed to civic ownership with the proviso that his collection of over 300 dioramas should not be altered.
