Support the Industrial Revolution
A couple of years ago I was invited down to Cambridge to speak to the Cambridge Friends of the National Trust for Scotland. As a result they were kind enough to make a donation to the garden. A few months ago they got in touch to say that they would like to do it again, only more so, so I've spent some happy hours Googling and will be able to buy four reproduction Coalbrookdale garden benches.
If you haven't come across these before, the original cast iron Coalbrookdale benches came from the Ironbridge Gorge in Victorian times and are now worth big money, but several companies now produce reproductions in cast aluminium. These are much lighter, and the powder coating means that corrosion is kept at bay. We spend ages each winter trying to maintain wooden benches and probably lose one a year as we can't keep up with the rot. These replacement should make life easier and look good too.
Do come in later on and sit on them!
