The girls are back
Twelve Beulah (or Welsh Mountain or Speckle-face) ewes arrived back at the nature reserve today and I went down to welcome them. Just look how much Dogwood scrub I've been saving for them. Our Dexter cattle had a good go at this part of the reserve before Christmas so I'm hoping scrub-browsing is now on the agenda for this band of helpers, leading to some fantastic orchids in June and an increase in Chiltern Gentians in August.
