Halong Bay (2)

I apologise for the traditional postcard image but it was hard to resist this gorgeous view from the top of Ti Top Island which we climbed before breakfast this morning.  The weather was better than yesterday and the sun was trying to break through.

We are now in Ninh Binh staying for a couple of nights in a fabulous 5* resort.   The weather is not forecast to be good tomorrow.

During the long drive here we had a most interesting discussion with our guide about the Vietnam war from a Viet Cong perspective.  He was a child at the time.

However,  Jane and I think the Vietnamese brand of Communism is more capitalistic than we have in the UK.  He told us that university graduates,  after paying a fortune for their  education,  have then to pay employers to take them on.   In return the employers are free at any time to get rid of them and employ someone else and therefore make more money.   I'm sure this wasn't part of Ho Chi Minh's dream 50 years ago!

I have back-blipped yesterday's picture as we had no internet last night
