Hall ceiling angles

I thought I'd try another of these with skew-whiff angles, before I leave next week.

I love the portrait that hangs on the wall as you go up the stairs. The frame isn't too ornate and you can see the brush strokes of the oil paint. The painting is obviously very old - there are even a few cracks and holes in the canvas. There is a signature in the bottom left-hand corner, but unfortunately I can't quite make out the name - something like T. Sivell, which I have googled without success.

As for the subject, I know nothing about him, but he looks like a very distinguished gentleman, doesn't he?
