The Video

We had lunch with my best friend Stephen and his wife Janis today, down at the port.  The weather was good enough to dine al fresco, and the food was good enough to eat!

The lunch was to celebrate the completion of the video that Stephen has been editing, a visual accompaniment to our song, RUNAWAY, which tells the real-life story that inspired my novel of the same name - the book comes out next week.  Stephen and I, along with two other band members, ran away to London in 1969, shortly after we had turned 17.  It did not end well.  Or maybe it did, since we are still around to tell the tale.  

Stephen used old 8 millimetre film taken of us during the sixties to cut into the visual narrative - and there we are, children of our time juxtaposed with our sexagenarian present-day selves.  It was great fun to shoot, and a poignant reminder of people long gone.
