Murky Manchester morning
I had an appointment for a dental check up this morning. Although we live 20 miles from Manchester, our Dentist is in the city centre where we both used to work and good dentists are hard to come by, so we stuck with Julia and her Father, aka Payne and Payne, and not I am not joking :-)
I parked off Deansgate, in a Pay and display area, by the renown Victorian housed private clinics in the St John Street area. £4.30 for an hour and a half beats £6 for an hour in the Great northern car park!
I put my £4.30 in and the machine spat it out, twice! Then I noticed a white sticker on the machines saying "please note these machines do not accept 20p or 10p coins" can anyone tell me how you can pay £4.30 without using 20p or 10p !!! As I did not have enough change to up it and pay for 2 hours I had to pay £4 for an hour (£3.90 was the charge lol?!) and hope my dentist was running to time!
The good news is I didn't need any work doing, just a clean, which left me a quick 10 minutes to play with my camera, (thanks to the stupid parking charges), before a quick dart back to the car, to find a loitering traffic warden, or whatever they are called these days! I still had 5 minutes to spare, he just nodded to me, I smiled sweetly at him :-)
This image is taken from the top of St. John Street, looking back towards a section of the Great Northern Railway Company site on Deansgate. Although it's somewhat lacking in colour I do like all the angles and lines in this shot.
