Back to the Ballroom

About six years ago (or it might have been seven - I'm really not sure any more) I decided to go along to a dance class just to prove to myself that I was no good at it. My father had been a medal-winning dancer in his youth but it was something I had never tried, apart from a few random practice sessions with my mother when I was tiny. Anyway, I went along to this drop-in class to try dancing something called "Ceroc" and...

Well, somewhat surprisingly, I turned out to be rather good at it. Not only that, I found that dance was something that had been seriously missing from my life, and something that made me feel a whole lot better about everything. Since then, apart from holidays and christmas, I don't think a week has gone by where I haven't gone dancing at least once.

I've dabbled in Salsa, done a bit of Argentine Tango, and more recently (about September 2014) started ballroom classes here at JJ Dance Studio in Beckenham, Kent. Tonight was the first class after christmas, and it was great to get back on the floor... and even better to find that I hadn't forgotten everything that we'd done before!
