A late afternoon trip to Howth.
My debit card had been compromised over Christmas to the tune of about €3,000, and my replacement card arrived today. I updated the card details on some online sites where payments had been declined, but had forgotten that I needed to activate the card by using it in an ATM – hence an excuse to get in the car, go to Howth, validate the card and actually do a bit of blipping.
