"Ça plane pour moi” Plastic Bertrand
"Ça plane pour moi” was a hit record for Plastic Bertrand in 1978. Blippers of a certain age might remember this song. Then again they might rather not.
I can still remember the first time I saw this polymer punk on TV. But things are never quite what they seem. It turns out that PB did not actually sing on that record. Or any of his first 4 albums.
PB’s fellow countryman, Magritte, might well have said of this blip; “Ceci n’est pas une pomme” and he’d be right. The apple is not quite what it seems. It’s made from plastic. As is the figure balancing it on his finger (its finger?) But you already knew that.
