Brisket, Slowly
After far too much a trek to find a £10 slow cooker and a new kettle and some brisket in the same Tesco in order to get £4 off for spending over £40 we now have a slow cooker. First experiment is with brisket. Cooked for just over 8 hours it was extremeley tender and about the consistency of pulled pork, you could cut it with a fork (well two).
So after a dry Friday we might started drinking wine a little too early and generally lazed around the house playing our respective computer games and waiting for the beef to cook. In the interim there were crab brulees and crab cakes (Costco sell a tub of white crab meat at a very reasonable price but there is 454g of crab, which is a lot to eat in 3 days).
Tried watching a hooky copy of 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' but stopped after about 20 minutes as it became apparent that the apes were supposed to be subtitled and there weren't any.
