Odd man out

Another Thursday bites the dust, long week end for Canada starts tomorrow, but Victoria Day, the holiday, isn't til Monday.
Queen Victoria's birthday is thus "fondly" remembered by all and sundry. I shall raise a glass to her.

I was told that the real reason that a day off was granted many years ago at this time of year was to enable families to plant their vegetable gardens as the frost date in the vast majority of the country has now passed

Who am I to argue?
