Portrait of a Woman

While I was serving in Mexico on a medical mission, I came across this woman sitting in the waiting room for her turn with a dentist or doctor.  She had such a sense of joy about her just sitting there waiting that I knew I wanted to capture that.  My Spanish is pretty limited (I can order food) so I asked if she would let me take her picture by holding up my camera and saying "por favor."  She smiled and nodded.

One of the interesting thing about this photo is that I never noticed the transition line on her face.  If you look closely on her left cheek and across her nose you can see a line.  It appears that she is someone who works wearing a mask to cover her nose and mouth.  Her face tells of a life lived, and her eyes tell you joy.

I hope to see this woman again sometime when I am down in Mexico.
