Decimalisation

In February 1971, the New Penny was introduced to Great Britain. 
We had been using the 5p and 10p for a few years by then but I remember thinking at the time that I was being ripped off in the sweet shop. 
One day I could buy 4 black jacks or fruit salads with my old 1d. Shortly afterwards I can only buy 2 with my new one penny. It was a hard lesson to learn :-(
