Soutra House Cafe

In the midst of making our plans for the day, we discovered a few things that needed immediate attention.  After putting aside our original plans and dealing with urgent matters, we decided to go out to lunch at the Soutra House Cafe.  It's a lovely little cafe set just at the bottom of Soutra Hill on the cusp of Midlothain and the Scottish Borders.  Although it's on a main road, it feels like the middle of nowhere as it is at least a mile from the nearest village.  This photo was taken in the parking lot looking out towards East Lothian.  There was a rainbow just over one of the hills, but it is barely visible in the photo.  The cafe has a wall of windows that look out over this amazing view point.  I love going there, but don't get there as much as I would like as it is so removed.
