Abandoned Cottages

This monochrome is an infrared in which the IR treatment is less obvious as there is little blue in the sky to give a dark-toned sky and limited brightly coloured foliage. I guess the dark tones of the road are the main giveaway as it looks like newly-laid tarmac. However, I like the added contrast it gives to the brickwork of the cottages. This terrace of farmworkers' cottages is completely abandoned and gives the village a slightly surreal atmosphere as these cottages form about 50% of the housing in the village.
