I love how one moment the sea can be completely still and in an instant reveal its power! 

As an Aussie kid living on the east coast, it was inevitable that I was going to grow up on the beach! It is for that reason that I'm incredibly thankful for my time spent as a member of the local surf club. I was taught how to spot a rip, how to administer CPR (thankfully I've never had to use these skills!) and how to perform rescues in the IRB. 

I'm also thankful for all the men and women who patrol our beaches during the week to keep us safe and a particular shout out to those that volunteer their time on the weekends!
