TWIZEL CANALS

This is the Canal leading to the Ohau B dam.  The whole of Twizel is built on this 60's project of daming the water system for electric power generation. there is a salmon farm at the top of this canal which is very popular for fishing for escaped salmon from this commercial salmon farm.
Its amazing what can happen when man/wo puts his/her mind to beautifying something after ripping the guts out of it !! There is of course the " Dam the Dam " lot who think otherwise and I respect their opinion
